Action! 5 Points Improvements City Council Meeting
May 8 @ 5:45 pm - 9:00 pm
We need everyone to write letters to City Council and show up on monday to support this project, many people and organizations put imput into it, it is engineered, cleared and grant funded already!
City of Ventura staff appear to be undecided on moving ahead with the long-awaited, much needed, and already planned project to improve traffic flow, pedestrian safety and access, and bike lanes at the Five Points Intersection.
The bids that the City of Ventura received for the project are being rejected. What is of greatest concern is that the action under consideration by City Council states “If this project moves forward…..” We WANT this project to move forward.
Please write City Council by Monday, May 8 at: email@example.com
let them know we are watching and paying attention!
The City has designated this area of Midtown as a “Wellness District” and two major hospitals have invested millions of dollars in new state-of-the-art infrastructure. The Five Points intersection is at the entry to the Wellness District. The current intersection is unsafe and unsightly.
Details below on a) the Action Item before City Council on Monday, b) the plan for Five Points Intersection, and c) the purpose of our Wellness District.
Please let City Council know that you care about our community and ask them to direct City Staff to readvertise and move forward with the Five Points Project.
Spread the word!
Action Item on Monday night’s Ventura City Council Meeting:
Five Points Intersection Access Improvements
The project will add signalized pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, and sidewalk improvements so that the intersection is easier to cross. The project is funded by local City funds and a grant from VCTC and is expeced to start constuction in the fall of 2016.
